Of course, you also need to apply the 80:20/G:R rule, with a SUUUCKS attitude, weird mindset, PEE Poor Work Ethic, c-c-c courage with precision g-spot focus whilst high on two drugs…
… when I worked at Cannons Health & Fitness Limited in 2000-01, I was blessed to be educated, coached and trained in what I believe was then one of the best sales and marketing teams in the UK health club industry.
The Academy training centre, and ‘Cannons Train’ – the professional development and structured programme laid down for the Cannons Group – was truly exceptional… and I believe, ahead of its time.
… I joined Cannons to specialise in corporate development and innovation relating to online marketing, sales and strategy. My role at the ‘mature’ club, that is, very well established health club in a wealthy community in South Buckinghamshire, was Sales Manager (direct line-managed 5 of a team of 50) primarily responsible for sales and marketing, PR, staff recruitment and management in relation to the same (including contracts of services and contracts for services).
I feel blessed and proud to share with you that because of Cannons Train (its marketing and sales education, coaching and training) I was able to play an instrumental part in our club team achieving 270% over performance in Jan 2001… due to marketing and sales innovations.
In monetary terms, January 2001 membership sales and positive membership movement equated to approximately £500,000 membership income for the 12 months ahead from these new members alone through their joining fees, direct debit contracts and average ‘food and beverage’ spend.
The sales process and management system is something which I carried with me into subsequent ventures, including the legal profession, albeit adapted and innovated to suit the current thinking at that particular time…
… I simply applied this winning sales process and formula in law law land; adding innovative ‘bits and bobs’ of course, such as utilising new technologies, new world thinking and my own learning, development and experience as the years progressed.
… extraordinary rainmaking is predominately about behaviour. It’s about building an emotional equity bank with your lobsters, potential clients and existing clients.
It’s about engagement, involvement and giving… aka, a nurturing sales equity bank.
